There are three main titles that drunk driving is given and vary in definition by state. The three titles are: driving under the influence (DUI), operating under the influence (OUI), and driving while intoxicated (DWI). An OUI can be given even if the vehicle is not in motion. A driver can be given an OUI if they show signs of actual physical control when they are seated in the driver’s seat, in possession of the ignition key, and seem capable of starting the motor.
