Information to collect at the time of an auto accident
Attorney John Brookman explains what information to collect at the time of an accident.
It’s always a good practice, if you’ve been involved in a car wreck, to get as much information at the scene as you can. Exchange insurance information. The police officer will give you a report number. That report typically will have witness information on it. Those are the kinds of things that are important to collect, and retain this data. It’s hard to do, especially if you have an injury, you’re going to be concerned about that and that should be first and foremost. But to the extent that you are capable of collecting information associated with the event you have, that’s always very helpful to your lawyer when you come in.
