When you lose a job, you haven’t saved up money for attorney fees to go and modify or change your prior court order. And that’s what needs to be done. So, basically, usually when someone loses their job they’re thinking about rent, their car payment, house payment, whatever it might be, but that child support order still stays in effect. So if you’re paying $800 a month child support or $500, it’s going to stay that amount until you change it. And that’s — you would have then to file what’s called a Motion To Modify Child Support.
